Consultation Policy

CoinAPI values stakeholder input in the development and maintenance of our indexes. Our consultation policy ensures that significant changes to index methodologies or policies are subject to appropriate review and feedback:

  1. Consultation Triggers: We will initiate consultations for changes that may significantly impact index values, composition, or replicability.

  2. Consultation Process: a. Announcement of proposed changes b. 30-day feedback period (may be shortened in urgent cases) c. Review of feedback by the Index Committee d. Publication of consultation results and final decision

  3. Implementation: Changes will typically be implemented no sooner than 10 business days after the conclusion of the consultation process.

  4. Emergency Changes: In extraordinary circumstances, changes may be implemented immediately, with ex-post consultation conducted as soon as practicable.
